Taylors Bowls Super Challenge -

The Taylor Bowls Super Challenge, sponsored by Taylor Bowls, is an exciting 10-a-side lawn bowls competition, consisting of all 4 disciplines: singles, pairs, triples and fours. Playing during the twilight hours of the South Australian summer, clubs from across the Adelaide metropolitan area compete in six sections to take home the trophy and prize money in three divisions: Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Taylor Bowls Super Challenge is an open gender competition.

Thanks to Taylor Bowls, the total Prize-money given out by the SALBL for the Taylor Bowls Super Challenge during the 2016/17 season was just over $25,000.

The 2021/22 Taylor Bowls Draws are now up. Round One kicks off on 14 November with games at Modbury, Tranmere, Somerton, Toorak-Burnside and Glenelg.

Apologies but I have made a couple of further changes to Silver South and Bronze South draws

Silver South – version 2 has swapped match-ups between rounds 4 and 7 to give Club Holdfast a bye on 12 Dec which was requested. Somerton’s bye date has changed

Bronze South – version three has swapped match-up around between rounds 2, 3, 4 and 5… to facilitate Club Holdfast’s request for a bye on Dec 12 and Happy Valley’s request for a bye on 16 Jan which was given in v1 but moved in v2… bye dates for Port Noarlunga and Hawthorn have also changed.

For teams playing this Sunday, score cards will be available at the venues. I will be delivering cards to host venues tomorrow and Thursday. For teams having a bye this Sunday, I will get scorecards to you prior to your first game.

A few points concerning the Gold division.

The five Gold teams are playing each other twice.
Because there are only two matches, round 1 at Modbury, round 2 at West Lakes and rounds 3 & 4 at Lockleys will be played in conjunction with Silver or Bronze rounds being hosted at those venues. 20 rinks will be required on those nights (and 5 singles markers).
Rounds 7 and 8 at Henley will be played as a double header on 6 February. Round 7 commencing at 3pm, round 8 commencing at 6pm.
Because of the manipulation of venues and byes, teams may meet each other twice before they have played all teams once.
